Circa £50k


Home based & Huntingdon

Full time, 37 hours a week


Do you want to use your quality control and scientific skills to ensure that we continue to provide millions of people with clean, safe drinking water and ensure we protect our environment by recycling waste water to high standards before its release back in to the environment? 


Based at our modern, regulated, UKAS accredited laboratory in Huntingdon, you’ll be managing and developing a robust, dynamic & independent quality management system for Analytical services. You’ll also be maintaining our quality system and records, produce and deliver quality reporting & monitoring. Furthermore, you’ll provide leadership to a small team.


The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring the implementation and compliance of a robust Quality management system in accordance with ISO 17025. Ensuring QMS policies, procedures and methods are defined, established, implemented, maintained in accordance with EN ISO 17025 requirements and revised for continual improvement. You and your team must, at all times, remain independent of Laboratory and Sampling operations.  

Reporting to the Analytical Services Manager the Quality Manager will ensure maintenance of the Quality management system in line with relevant strategic direction set whilst advising on requirements governed by ISO 17025.

What does it take to be a Quality Manager?


• Scientific degree or equivalent
• Substantial experience in quality role within a Laboratory environment
• Hold Chartered status with a relevant / recognised Professional body or hold a professional qualification and be working towards chartership
• Solid understanding of Drinking Water and Waste Water regulations
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 and quality assurance and risk management systems in general
• Broad understanding of the regulatory and operating environment in relation to water and environmental quality
• Able to operate on both strategic and tactical levels
• Knowledge of the work practices, processes and procedures relating to analytical and sampling processes
