Help lead our work on flood risk management

As climate change becomes ever more visible - especially in vulnerable, low-lying regions like the east of England - we are looking for someone to lead and co-ordinate our work on flooding with other risk management authorities (principally the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities and Internal Drainage Boards).

You will be responsible for overseeing a £12million portfolio of flood risk management projects that help protect communities and the services we provide.  We have agreed a performance commitment with our regulator to deliver 92 outputs by 2025, where we contribute toward partnership schemes that achieve cross-sector benefits.  Where possible, the postholder will develop proposals with partners that achieve gains for biodiversity, local amenity and carbon sequestration. Building on the success of the current programme, you will develop the business case for even more investment and benefit to be delivered during the next five year period (AMP8, 2025-2030).

As our Flood Partnerships Manager, you will represent Anglian Water at a senior level locally, regionally and with national government and its agencies.  Working closely with our Regional Flood Risk Manager, you will also help us meet our responsibilities under the Flood and Water Management Act, the National Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Strategy, and Surface Water Management Action Plan.

Working as part of the Strategic Growth and Public Policy team, you will help inform position papers, briefings and policy submissions on a range of flood-related issues. Overall, you will develop close working relationships with key stakeholders, build alliances and deliver an investment programme that will help us to fulfil our purpose as a water company, enshrined in our Articles of Association, which is ‘to bring environmental and social prosperity to the region we serve through our commitment to Love Every Drop’.

As a valued employee, you’ll be entitled to:

  • Personal private health care
  • 26 days annual leave – rising with length of service
  • Flexible working
  • Competitive pension scheme – Anglian Water double-matches your contributions up to 6%
  • Bonus scheme
