Location: Hertford with flexible remote working arrangements

Salary Range: £27,741 - £30,451 per annum, plus £2,000 Market Forces payment per annum and £1,000 Welcome payment. Relocation package is available (up to £6,000 for candidate relocating)

Hours: 37 per week

Contract: Permanent

Job Duties:

We are looking to recruit three Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) Officers to join our team.

As a Sustainable Drainage Systems Officer you will contribute to reducing flood risk within Hertfordshire and the County Council meeting its responsibilities under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010.

As part of the Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA), you will provide advice to the Local Planning Authorities as part of the LLFA’s role as statutory consultee on surface water drainage.  You will also undertake the LLFA’s regulatory role on Ordinary watercourses; consenting structures and undertaking enforcement on unconsented works.

We are seeking self-motivated and enthusiastic individuals, educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.  You will ideally have gained experience in flood risk and drainage asset management and possess knowledge and experience of surface water drainage development and implementation.  You will have an understanding of local government and the current issues they face.
