The role
We are looking for a technical specialist to join our small, dynamic team. You will provide support the Water Director in identifying and pursuing strategic opportunities within the hydrology, hydro-ecology, flood risk and hydromorphology sectors.
We need a team member with sound technical capabilities in fundamental hydrology. This will cover a variety of skills within the field of hydrology, including data collection and management, analysis, interpretation, to be backed up with proficiency in technical report-writing. Site surveys and data collection are core to Thomson’s approach to hydro-ecological work, so practical skills and fieldcraft are important.
Our work covers a broad range of projects within environmental sciences. This provides interesting workloads, and broad interaction with other disciplines including ecology, hydrogeology, surveying, hydro-chemistry, project managers etc. Knowledge of these disciplines would be beneficial, but a collaborative frame of mind is essential.
This is a permanent role, ideally based out of our Guildford office (with hybrid working), but we're open to other locations for the right candidate.
