About us
At the Environment Agency, we put people and the environment at the heart of everything we do. Acting to reduce the impacts of a changing climate on people and wildlife has never been more important, and our work helps ensure that people can enjoy nature for years to come. Our Resources and Waste Strategy helps drive a circular economy, and is a once in a generation opportunity to make a seismic shift in the way waste and resources are managed in England.
About the role
As a Senior Advisor in our Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) project, you’ll play a key role in helping us deliver better outcomes for the environment, wildlife, and people. Working collaboratively with central government and colleagues across the Agency and beyond, you’ll inform policy, develop processes and roadmaps, and identify solutions with people and places in mind. You’ll develop our compliance and enforcement strategy for EPR regulations, and help us achieve our goals within the government’s 25 Year Environment Plan. Most importantly, you’ll put the UK’s natural environment first at every turn, and be committed to developing solutions that improve lives.
About you
You’ll be a natural communicator, with experience of leading and managing complex pieces of work requiring significant stakeholder engagement and the ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues across all levels of the organisation. You’ll be highly organised, with good leadership and influencing skills and a track record of achieving results. Using your effective written and verbal communication skills, you’ll be able to explain complex subject matter to varied audiences, and have experience of planning, managing, and delivering to challenging deadlines. You’ll work flexibly and autonomously, taking the initiative where possible and organising a complex workload. Fundamentally, you’ll be a team player, and a person passionate about developing solutions to the problems that face our environment.
We work to create better places for people and wildlife, and support sustainable development.
