Role Purpose
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that manages and maintains Flood Risk Management Plans that are used to reduce flooding to communities across the Upper Severn and Vyrnwy catchments
We are looking for suitably qualified individuals to support the production of maintenance and improvement programmes for flood risk management assets. These assets vary from coastal and tidal defences, river side flood walls and embankments to sluices, penstocks and pumping stations.
You will also support the development of nature based solutions to reducing flood risk and enhancing the environment and promoting the sustainable management of our natural resources in Wales.
Ideally from an engineering background your key duties will include surveying and monitoring assets out in the field and compiling and producing asset inspection reports to help plan and deliver an area based capital improvement programme.
You will be working in a team of similar experienced technical staff, delivering a risk based service across Mid Wales and will support NRW’s incident response to flooding
This role is suited to a technical person with a passion for working with the environment in order to make a difference to the lives of people in North Wales.
Ensure that NRW's banking and tax practices comply with external legislation and guidance as well as internal policies and procedures, ensuring that we have effective internal controls in place.
Advocate compliance with our Financial Scheme of Delegation, identifying and then either resolving or referring issues to the specialists for resolution.
