Senior Consultant - Experienced (Environment & Society team)

We are looking for Senior Consultants to work across the Environment part of our Environment & Society team, with strategic focus on flooding, erosion, water quality, water resources, natural capital, natural resources, and evaluation projects. 

You will provide support to our senior project managers, taking on assistant project manager roles, as well as Project Manager roles for, initially, low risk projects, to gather and extend experience.  Further, you will lead technical elements of evaluations of nationally significant projects, alongside having the opportunity to get involved and learn from the extensive range of projects that RPA delivers.

As an experienced Consultant, you will have some of the following:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience within consultancy, preferably at least 8 years’ experience;
• A proven track record of winning work and supporting on the full project lifecycle, including tender preparation, impact assessments, studies and/or evaluations according to UK Green Book and UK Magenta Book, including design of engagement and data collection strategies, and implementing such activities (interviews, surveys, workshops, conferences) as well as policy/economic analysis (cost-benefit analysis, analysis of efficiency and effectiveness);
• Experience within the areas of flood, coastal erosion, water quality, water resource, natural capital and/or natural resource management;
• Project management skills and experience of leading relevant projects for public sector clients; and
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and proven ability to deliver high quality reports.

Additional skills that are desirable and you may have include:

• Ability to develop and run workshops, focus groups and semi-structured interviews;
•  Ability to create innovative methodologies to meet clients’ needs;
• Some people management experience;
• Demonstrable skills in stakeholder engagement;
• Experience of managing pipeline and tender selection; and
• One or more EU languages besides English.

Salary and benefits

We operate agile working and so when you need to be in the office you can be based at either our head office in Norwich, Norfolk or at one of our hub locations (currently London and Bristol).

Salary is transparent and will be within our pay ranges of £35,500 to £49,000.   We apply £3,000 London weighting where applicable.  We offer 38 days holiday a year (including bank holidays) and after 6 months you will gain equity in the business via the employee-owned trust which brings tax free bonuses, profit share and a voice in the future of the company.
