Flintshire is currently developing its Flood Risk Management Team with significant opportunities available. As a team member we want someone with the right combination of technical, organisational, and practical qualities and experience to help support the work of our Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Team (FCERM).
The Council acts as both the Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA) and the SuDs Approving Body (SAB), and with your initiative and drive you will support the Team Manager in developing and delivering a successful FCERM service. You will provide the necessary capability, knowledge, enthusiasm and commitment to make a positive contribution and impact, with opportunities to specialise and/or gain general experience across the service.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate an ability to assess, co-ordinate and deliver, and be educated to degree, diploma, HNC/HND or higher-level qualification in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Science or similar discipline. Candidates should have sound technical and/or practical knowledge of drainage systems, delivery of capital schemes and flood risk management, with a background in the technical approval of works also being desirable, or have a real aptitude to develop and learn in the role.
Welsh speaking and writing skills are desirable.
