Full Time, Grade 5 SCP 33-41 (£41,418 - £49,498)

ABOUT THE ROLE

The position involves a multifaceted role in managing a grant-funded Programme with responsibilities ranging from overseeing a budget, development of justification case for funding continuation, and the delivery of associated work programs. The role extends to advising local authorities on the Flood & Water Management Act statutory duties (including Sustainable drainage (SuDs)) and fostering service improvement and consistency.

The core policy area covered by the post is flood and coastal erosion risk management (FCERM) In this area the postholder is required to collaborate closely with the Welsh Government Flood Branch (Grant Body) to support the development and delivery of policies, the National FCERM Strategy. Part of this role is also about engaging at senior level within local government to troubleshoot issues arising in this field and promote change.
