Advisor 2, Development & Flood Risk Enforcement

  • Grade & Salary: 5, £30,120 rising to £33,383 over four years

Role Purpose

The post holder will protect and enhance the environment by effective and efficient investigation and enforcement (where necessary) of complex environmental offending, specific to Flood Risk and Water Management activities in relation to the Environmental Permitting Regulations (England and Wales) 2016 and other relevant legislation.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of key legislation pertinent to our Flood Risk Activities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with regulated business and the public and gaining support and agreement through  influencing.
  • Understanding of flood risk mechanisms/sources of flooding and fluvial hydrology.
  • Able and competent in dealing with challenging situations and individuals.
  • Strong and effective self-management and organisational skills.   
  • Good knowledge and experience of GIS systems and data management.
  • Good report writing skills
  • Must have a full UK driving licence
