About the role
Forest of Dean District Council is seeking a forward-thinking and collaborative Waste and Environmental Partnerships Manager to lead the strategic relationship with our waste and recycling service provider, Ubico Ltd. This key role will oversee the delivery and continuous improvement of waste collection, recycling, street cleansing, grounds maintenance, and related environmental services. You will be the council’s subject matter lead on the waste hierarchy, advising on policy, innovation, and best practice to reduce environmental impact and improve service efficiency.
You will build and maintain strong partnerships with Ubico, other local authorities, and stakeholders to drive innovation and deliver high-quality services for our residents. Representing the council at regional levels, you’ll identify opportunities for collaboration and contribute to shaping service strategy and policy. Working closely with elected members and senior leadership, you’ll ensure alignment with the council’s vision and financial goals, including contributing to key projects like depot reviews and delivering savings for the council’s medium-term financial strategy.
