Job Description

A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is looking for a Principal Flood Risk Consultant to lead the delivery of flood risk, drainage, hydrology, and water environment projects across major UK infrastructure and development schemes.

The Role

  • Lead Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), Drainage Strategies, SuDS, hydraulic modelling, and water environment projects.
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams and act as Project Manager/Project Director.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, regulators, and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee project delivery, budgets, resources, and commercial performance.
  • Support business development, tenders, and framework bids.
  • Mentor junior consultants and drive technical excellence.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Geography, Environmental Engineering, Water Management, or similar.
  • Chartered or working towards Chartership (ICE, CIWEM, CEnv).
  • Strong experience delivering flood risk, drainage, and water environment projects.
  • Proven leadership, client-facing, and project management experience.
  • Commercial awareness and experience managing project finances.
